apply pre-made xml schema in access?

Hello! I am running Access 2002 and would like to export a table to XML by applying a pre-made (non MS Access created) schema. I do not see any option for using an existing schema when exporting as XML - only the MS Access version of a schema, which I do not want to use. Is there a way of applying a different schema in Access while saving as an XML, or a trick to get it to work? Thanks to everyone for your help!
