we have active/passive cluster environment in sqlserver 200o environment. I need to apply patch 8.00.2040 in cluster.I would appreciate if everyone gives steps to applying patch in cluster.

Apply patch in cluster environment

You shold be able to just install it. I didn't have any problems installing it on our clusters.
After you install it on the active node, fail over to the passive node and make sure that it got pushed to that node. I had to manually install it on both nodes for one of my clusters.
