Does anyone know how to apply the same desktop to all users. I could've swared that i saw a place that said apply to all logon users and the desktop was set to all users who logged on.

Are we talking local or domain here? If domain, you can set up a mandatory (so it can't be changed) profile on the server, and make that the default profile for all users (in User Manager on NT server - I'm not familiar with 2k server equivalent).

If local, you can set up a mandatory profile on the local machine, and update each user's details to pick it up (eg, run lusrmgr.msc, users folder, right click on user, properties, profile tab).

To make a manadatory profile, rename ntuser.dat as ntuser.man.

i want to load a default theme to windows classic view b/c i don't like the theme for a coporate environment. the same applies for the start menu.

Create a new user & set it up as you want everybody to have. Then (if you don't want them to be able to change it), make ntuser.dat ntuser.man, and point users at it. If its a domain, after setting up on workstation, use the copyto feature (system properties, advanced, user profiles etc) to copy it to location on server.

If you just want users to start with these settings (ie, can change), don't make it mandatory, and after setting it up use the copyto feature to copy it over the Default User profile - back up original Default User first (if local machine, in \Documents and Settings). All new users logging on will now get this to start with, but will be able to change it.

If domain, and not using roaming profiles, copy (use copyto again) it to Default User folder under the netlogon share on the server (ie, \WINNT\system32\Repl\Import\Scripts). All new domain users will pick it up as start point.

HTH.
