I've set up and saved a custom style set and made it the default. When I create a new document, the style set works fine, But if I click "Change Styles > Style Set" and select my custom style set, the font of some of the individual styles in the set changes.

Some of the styles in the style set are based on the Normal Style, but that doesn't seem to affect whether or not the font changes when the custom style is re-applied.

This doesn't happen with all of my custom style sets, only the one I use the most - of course! Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Why are you setting it to the default, and then reselecting that style if you've already got your document in that style? Seems like it could be a bug maybe? Or are you saying something different altogether? [ponder]

From time to time I want to reformat documents that have been created using a different style set, and when I apply my custom style set, the font changes.

The same thing also happens in a new document when I apply my custom style set (even though it is already the default style set).

I only mentioned the new-document case because it seemed simpler and there were fewer variables to consider.

If you can help me get it straightened out it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

- Heather

Hmm, is it possible that the existing documents aren't using styles, then, but rather specific instances of the various formattings? Are you sure that those cases that don't change were actually using "styles" in the first place?

Oh ... I should just clarify something.

When I said "...when I apply my custom style set, the font changes..." I meant that the fonts of some of the individual styles that comprise the style set change when the style set is applied to a document.

Not all the fonts of the individual styles change, only some of them, and there doesn't seem to be any obvious differences between the ones that do and the ones that don't.

Cheers,

- Heather

Nope, sorry. "404 - File not found" doesn't show me much. [wink]

Looks like the link is missing something, maybe?

Well, for my part, in looking at that, I don't have any clues. But I don't think those pictures tell a whole lot, unfortunately.

Perhaps someone else will have another idea?
