applications slow accross MPLS network 1

We have two offices. One located in the west coast and the other in the east coast. East coast has the main server We have point to point dedicated MPLS T1 connections using Cisco 1700 series routers. Our Lans consist of HP switches. Whenever west coast open files from east coast its takes a while to open up and vice versa

Also we have a web based app that uses java applets. All the files are stored in the east coast server. When we use the web based app its slow to load also. Whereas, users from east coast are flying thru this same app.

However, if a data base application is stored locally (west coast) but the data (sql server is stored at our east coast) the read and write of data is fast. Its only when we open an application or file which is stored in the other far away server (east coast) that we experience latency.

Any suggestions on how to fix this. We have done several types of data traffic monitoring but we are not getting anywhere.

We have windows xp pro workstations and windows 2003 servers.

Get a utilization report from the carrier on the link. T1 is not a whole lot of bandwidth to be running web apps across the wan . Most people have more bandwidth at home than a T1 . Maybe someone in particular is chewing up all the bandwidth.

what exactly does a utilization report show.

Do you have an example.

Can you recommend a program so I can generate this type of report myself.

It should show how much of that T1 is being used at given times of the day. If its running above 85% of its capacity it will be slow.
