We have an Access 97 application that currently uses Oracle 7.3.4 We are upgrading to Oracle 8.1.7.3 and I'm wondering what sort of work would be required to do this. Whilst I know most of it will be application specific, were there many fundamental changes between the two versions?
The application isn't very large, 15 screens, has only a couple of reports, a database about 2GB and uses oracle stored procedures for most of it's processing. It's sort of a bespoke CRM that does mail merging (word 97) and label printing.
Has anyone gone from 7.3.4 to 8.1.7, what issues did you encounter?
We are only looking for a short term solution (least time, hastle and cost) here as the application will be superseeded in the near future. But the upgrade must be done.
I'm not sure what info is important so if I have left anyting out that may help please let me know.
Thanks for your time.
Brett
