We are putting some of our older Dell servers up for auction and I wanted to make sure that no data was on the drives. Most servers have PERC cards. Can anyone suggest a free application that will erase the servers RAID drives completely?

We use an app for our workstation IDE/SATA drives that does really well but doesnt work for drive in RAID

You could try Dban "Darik's Boot And Nuke"

It does not wipe RAID Arrays but you could break up the arrays and wipe each disk individually. There is a commercial version which will do RAID "eban

Just go into your RAID array utility in the BIOS, delete your array, low-level format each drive and then create a new array.

If you need to meet any type of compliance, you might want to do quick google search and you will get lots of results on software that can earase your drives and meet the compliance you fall under.
