When Citrix 'times out' how does it handle open applications like a Ms Access Database?

Not sure if there is anything specific to Access, but we're having problems with MS Project 2002, and when they timeout, they're locking their projects. Only the Admin can unlock them. Seems like it just "End Task"'s the app.
