application roles on sql 2000

Dear all,

I am trying to block specific appl. such as Excel using Application Roles on Database, but still not work.

I still can connect and import the database from SQL server using MS Excel.

Does anyone knows how to block MS Excel on SQL 2000?

Please help me step by step to block MS Excel!
