Ok all here is the deal. I have an application that I am writing that my client accesses through an SSH session to a linux box.. I want to pass a file through the tunnel(which I can do already) and have it open acrobat reader automatically. Would any one have any idea on how I can have windows listen on a specific port and when a file is passed, have it open the appropriate application?

As far as I know, you may need to write a program to do this. I use VB.net for writing apps, MS now offer vb.net 2008 Express edition for free.

The only other way that this could be done without writing an app, would be to use telnet. If you can already send the file to the remote pc you could connect via telnet and run the necessary commands.

I have to point out that both options pose a huge security risk if not properly done, which could open the pcs to hackers...
