Application only runs on published desktop

I have installed a little know application that accesses data from a AS400 system via client access express, during initial testing everything was well with the world. However (there is always a however) Client Access Express was corrupting the database, so no problem we change to the full version of Client Access(3.2) now however I can’t run the application as a published app, however it does function as part of a published desktop. This however is not an acceptable fix. Not something I have seen before does any have any ideas why it will not run as a published application and of course a possible fix?

Versions:
Windows 2000 SP2
Citrix XP

PS Everything is French the lot Windows 2000 Citrix XP and Client Access. Service packs have not been released in French.

Could it be to do with the published app using the annomyous user access rights and settings and the published desktop require a proper user log on? Just my first thought.

If you have not looked into this yet, try setting the published app to use explicit users.
