The catalogs were taking up a lot of disk space. We went in and deleted some of the older catalogs. Since then, we found the option to Trucate and Delete logs through a setting in BE. However, a problem exists and I think is attributed to the manual deletion of the files.
We keep getting errors in our Application Log. This is what it says:
Update to catalog index (C:\Program Files\VERITAS\Backup Exec\NT\Catalogs\BeTopCat.idx) failed.
Reason: Object invalid or no longer set. DAO.Database
d:\be\tobago\3571r\becat\server\catalogindex.cpp(292)
I stopped the BackupExec Job Engine Service and Agent Browser Service, renamed the BeTopCat.idx file to BeTopCat.old, and deleted all temporary files, restarted the services, and started a backup job. The BeTopCat.idx file has been recreated, however, we are still getting errors in the Application Log.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
