Good morning and Happy Holidays to all,

I have a small issue with Winword 2007 and Adobe Acrobat, I have one enduser (The Owner) that when he is connected to any network and tries to open an Office Word attachment Word hangs at the Office 2007 Splash screen and will never open or close.
You have to click on top of the splash screen in order for Windows Vista responds with the message Program not responding andit gives you three options you can perform. I have changed the default printer
to a non-networked printer, I have run all the Vista and Office updates. While going through the Event Viewer I ran across plenty of error id that were generated by Word. The event ID's I am receiving are: Event ID: 1002 and 7002.

If someone can please shed some light on this problem.

Thank you in advance,

Erick

Hi Erick,

Try repairing the Office installation via the 'Programs and Features' applet in the Windows Control Panel.

Cheers

Macropod,

Thank you for the suggestion. I have already tried by first running a repair on the Office installation that didn't help any so I then uninstalled Office rebooted and reinstalled Office and it continues doing the same thing.

I am going to try updating the nic drivers and see if that helps. I will post the results I get after I upgrade the drivers.

Thanks again,

Erick

Does the user have any add-ins with Word on the machine?

How much memory? Are you sure that one user isn't running out of resources, particularly RAM? We had some problems where I work, initially, with Office 2k7 apps causing systems to mess up, b/c they were short on RAM. And really, with as cheap as RAM is today, there's no reason to have a PC with less than 2 or 3GB for a business.

Boy, was THAT worded badly?!

I'd like to change my last statement to this:

And really, with as cheap as RAM is today, there's no reason to have a business PC with less than 2 or 3GB.

[blush]
