Hi,
We are having some trouble with Publisher recently on one of the computers.

While zoomed in (perhaps 400%), when a graphic is moved slightly - it causes the application to flash many times. I'm not sure how to describe it - almost as if it were refreshing constantly as it slowly moves the image toward the selected location. The PC has 1.5GB memory and is running XP Pro. This has happened both when there are no other applications open or several. Do I need to check sizes of these images? Does Publisher not have enough memory reserved? Thanks all..

Have you installed any new hardware or updated any drivers recently (perhaps Mouse and/or drivers)? Is it a problem that has just begun or a long suffering episode?

Some general things to try.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try Safe Mode (Do you have this problem in Safe Mode?).

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.
