Hi all,
perharps you can help with this..

My PC is on the organization's domain.
I have MSSQL 2000 8.00.760. I have successfully registered a few remote SQL server instances, but quite often when I'm trying to select "New SQL server Registration" I get the following error and Enterprise Manager crashes:

Application popup: SQL Server Enterprise Manager - [Console Root\Microsoft SQL Servers\SQL Server Group]: mmc.exe - Application Error : The instruction at "0x1fa06c3e" referenced memory at "0x00000045". The memory could not be "read".

The error pops up when I press the "Next" button on the first screen, after I select "New SQL server Registration".

I uninstalled and re-installed SQL Server on my PC, but the same thing happens.

thanx

There are a TON of possible problems / solutions for this. Because there are so many, I'm just going to recommend you going to and putting in the search phrase: mmc.exe - Application Error Enterprise Manager

You should be able to find your answer on one of those websites. My other thought is that your SQL Server Enterprise Manager.MSC might be bad and need to be replaced from the SQL Server installation CD, which is different than re-installing it. If the solutions you find through google don't work, try renaming your .msc and replacing it with the one from the CD and see if that works.

Hope this helps!
