Application Error, The exception Priviliged instruction

Hi all,
When I use SQL Server Enterprise, this error happen:

Microsoft Management Console:mmc.exe - Application Error
The exception Privileged instruction
(0xc0000096) occurred in the application at location 0x00c8600c

but other features such as SQL Query Analyzer work fine

I thought to be SQL Server problem, so I uninstall SQL Server and reinstall, but same error message. Maybe it's Windows 2000 problem. Who can help me.

Enterprise Manager is another version of an MMC window that has its own executable. Have you tried replacing the snap in?

Is this error happening as soon as you try and start EM (ie, you can't load the app at all) or is it just when you try and do some particular task(s)?

When I try and start EM, the error happening, and the SQL Server 2000 had worked fine all the time, this error happened from yesterday. I am trying Catadmin advise

Hi Catadmin,
Accord to your guide link, I understand now, the file "SQL Server Enterprise Manager.msc" is corrupt, just delete it and copy a file "SQLEM.msc" from SQL Server CD, change name to "SQL Server Enterprise Manager.msc". Then SQL EM work fine.
