Description of the error is as follows: An error occurred connecting to the MSS server to provide the MAS heartbeat.

The Modular Messaging (1 MAS) is a 3.0 (7.0.529.26)SP1 w/patch 9 (300109)installed on it with an MSS. (FYI, Avaya told me not to install SP2, because they don't support it. At least not until the 3rd. quarter of this year.)

PBX is an S8500, integration is H.323. Everything seems to be functioning properly, but for some reason I'm getting this error. The MAS and MSS are connected via a crossover cable (which I've already replaced).

I read a thread from the past, either on this site or the aucommunity site, where Mr. Means (in case your reading this) changed the private lan connection so that it appears on top of the corporate lan connection. I verified that mine is setup that way, which it is, but I'm still getting the error. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Thank you to anyone in advance for your help in this matter. I appreciate this site and everyone who contributes. It's been a tremendous help over the years.

Justin

When is the error occuring? every 5 min's or just 1 or 2 times a day?

1 or 2 times a day.

If I restart the MAS the error comes in about 10 to 15 minutes after it boots up. After that, it may happen 1 more time later (7 to 10 hours approx.) on in the day.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Well TAC would tell you that that is normal to get 1 or 2 times a day. Have you looked at you host files on the MAS?

If you can post the host file

Thanks for the reply. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to you.

You'll have to pardon my ignorance, but how would I go about retrieving the host files on the MAS so that I can post them for you?

Thanks.
