I have two very similar web sites running off the same server. Both have an Application.cfm file in their root directory with a couple of CFSETS indicating exactly which site is which.

The shared .cfm files are in a virtual directory called 'shared', running IIS on NT4.

On a file in the root directory, using a variable defined in the Application.cfm file is fine. If I try and access the same variable from .cfm in the shared directory, it barfs.

Can I glean from this that Application.cfm does not work over virtual directories?

The only other solution I can think of is by having a dummy file in the root of both sites and using CFFILE to check for the existance of said, and therefore know which site it is servicing.

Argh!
