I have set two enviroment variables on a NT machine. I can use the variables in batch files and command line, but the application I am using keeps telling me they don't exist. Is there any reason why a windows based app would not be able to see the variables. Anything to try would be usefull.

thanks

How did you set the variables? If you set them from a command prompt, as soon as you exit that window they are gone. In other words they are local to that virtual machine. If you set them through the control panel you need to set them as a "system" variable instead of a "user" variable.

If everything seems to be going well: you don't have enough information.......
