having a problem with an java applet that is on a layer above a flash movie but a box on the flash movie is the frame for the applet.
When the page opens the flash aligns to the users browser but the applet does not.

Could I embed the applet into Flash MX or do I have to stick with the layers?

In an ideal world you would get shot of the applet altogether, but failing that you'll have to find some way of aligning the applet layer ... MX doesn't support applet integration either.

Thanks for your reply
I don't like the applet either but the client does (it was their idea to use it in the first place).

ended up adjusting the layer and the design of the page so when it opens up what ever your screen res it does not overlap the rest of the pages content. yuk
