applet can't run in html

why applet didn't appear when i put the file.class into html, but the applet appear when using appletviewer...

i use jdk 1.3, windows xp

most likely because your browser does not allow, support or cannot find a suitable JRE to load your applet.

Check that you have the Java Plugin downloaded from the sun site, and your browser options.
