When the user of the mac in our office tries to access a local asp driven database over the network with the address

http://dan/jsp_test/jsptest.asp,

every time he types that address in the MAc IE and Netscape browser it automatically prefixes the address with

http://www and

suffixes it with .com, in this case it looks for

http://www.dan.com!

Any clues as to how we can get the mac user to access this file path so he can get to our database?

Is there a default on the MAC that automatically inserts

http://www and

.com can we switch it off, is it a properties in browser issue?


Or is it an ASP issue?

Hi,

If you can access the page from a windows client (or any other client for that matter) then it is not an ASP issue.

You could try using the ip address instead of the name, like:
http;//10.0.0.25/jsp_test/jsptest.asp
