We resently purchased a Phaser 7750. Half the studio is running Mac OS 9 and have no problems. We are slowly updating to Apple's G5 machines running OS X – Having spent ages going through all the print options and printer drivers we can only achieve a 100% greyscale printout or a greatly enlarged colour printout - any ideas!

Hi, Designboy

We purchased a Phaser 7750 in july, for printing under Mac OS 9 and despite the fact that Xerox Service people in Maastricht , Holland have spend numerous hours tuning it, even they couldn't get it to print bugless. The grey-problem you encounter is strange to me, but this machine doesn't surprise me in whatever output it produces. The enlarged output sounds familiar, though.

What we did so far was downloading AdobePS 8.8.0 which gives you the opportunity to set the Postscript output level to
1. Level 1,2 and 3 compatible
2. Level 2
3. Level 3

The third option solved some of the problems though it still remains an instable machine. According to Xerox, MacOSX and pc-users report no problems at all.

Still, I e-mailed via the Xerox site and they responded (from Ireland) telling me that the problems were known to occur under MacOS9 and in the third level (USA) a solution was being worked on.

In approx. three weeks from now they plan to deliver a new ppd on for download.

Who knows? Maybe miracles haven't seized to happen after all.

Groeten uit Nederland,

Burt1
