I need to retrieve some text docs off of a 15 year old 5 1/4 inch floppy, written in Bank Street Writer on an Apple IIC. I would like to convert the file to a MS Word document that I can read on a modern computer. Any ideas?

Try to step up gradually if possible. You don't state what type of machine(s) you have at your disposal, so here is what I would do under varying situations.

A) Have a IIe at my disposal w/the version of Appleworks, import BSW files into Appleworks using ASCII (works with some formatting issues, used to do it in high school). Save to 3 1/2 floppy. Then import Appleworks file into Clarisworks 2.0 on a PowerPC, then import into Appleworks 6.2 and save as MS document.

B) Attempt to import documents directly into Appleworks 6.2 from BSW.

C) Print documents out and scan into new system.

Hope this helps.
