Appending to tape in media pool

Hi,

I have dly, wkly and mthly media pools created.

I am backing up approx 20 servers across 4 LTO tapes in a library for each nights backup.

My problem is that I backup one system to a tape and then the tape gets moved to a save set even though my next backup job is an append job. The 2nd backup job just uses a new tape.

This means that my tapes don't get utilised correctly.

How can I make sure that the first tape is full before backing up to the next tape?

Yet another weakness in ARCserve's scheduling--you can't append to a rotation job. However, according to this fix, you can append if using a custom job. I have not done this, so let us know the results.
