I have an Excel spreadshhet that is linked to Access DB. Users can only input data into unprotected cells on spreadsheet. This input is reflected in Access queries tat are tied to the linked (protected) spreadsheet.

I need to be able to append new records to the protected spreadsheet using an append query. WHenever I try, I cannot append to the protected cells. (I can append if I unprotect the spreadsheet 1st).

How do I unprotect the spreadsheet from Access as part of the append code, and then Re-protected it after new records are added?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks
