I have written an append query, that copies data from one table to another. When i try to update the data again and run the appen query it doubles up the data. What i want to happen is that the query looks at the Primary key and adds the figures onto those records, can any body help me im sure its possible?

I think if u will add the clause in the end of ur append query as

AND tablename.myid <> backuptable.myid

where tablename is the table from where u r appending the values and backuptable is the table in which values are being appended and myid is ur unique or primary key.

it will igonore the values which are already being stored. i hope i have correctly understood u

Cheers!
