Append Query To Empty Table

Im trying to append records from one table to another table with an append query. The table I am appending the records to has no records in it. The query does not work unless the table has at least one record in it. Why? and what should I do to work around this.

I do not have this problem. I can insert/append records into an empty table.

What is the exact error you get when you try to perform this action?
