Hello, I have the following problem and do not know how to resolve it.

We download data from our mainframe (BPCS) into Excel where we convert the date string to a date format. From there we import it into an Access database. The table has 142 records in it.

When we try to run any append queries we get the following message.

"Microsoft Access set 0 file(s) to Null due to type conversion failure, and it didn't add 141 records to the table due to key violations, 0 record(s) due to lock violations, and 0 record(s) due to validation rule violations."

I have tried fathom out what is going on and have made no progress!

When Excel has a date in a cell, it may display it in date format, but it is realy a number. Try adding a column to your spreadsheet to format the date as text
=TEXT(A1,"mm/dd/yy") and appending that column to your table in access
