append calculated data from a report to a table

I have a calculated field in a report that I need to take the average of. It is not possible to take the average of it in a report so I would like to pull it into a table so that I am able to then pull it back into a report and average it. I know it sounds redundant, but it is necessary. I have no idea about how to go about doing this so any help would be much appreciated.

per the "other" discussion - this is EXACTLY one of the reasons to do the calculations in hte QUERY vs. The report.
