Hi,
I am presently working on attaching a number of Windows and solaris hosts to an EMC clarion CX3-40 SAN. HBA's have been installed in all of the windows hosts, fibre cables have been run between each server and the Brocade Switch and I have created a new Zone for each host, including HBA1 WWN and HBA2 WWN, plus SPA and SPB aliases using webtools. this is my first attempt at attaching hosts to the Clarion and I am wondering whether the LUNs I created on the Clarion (using Navisphere), should now automatically appear within the disk management api on the Windows servers? Can anyone tell me whether there are any further steps required in order for me to be able to format and name the newly presented LUNs/Disks?

Once you have the LUNs created and in the correct Storage Group along with the host you'll to rescan the Windows hosts in Disk Management and whatever the equivalent is in Solaris (disks command or something I think!)

Great Ok, so following a rescan - the additional storage will then be viewable within Windows Disk Management or Veritas Volume Manager respectably?

All being well and assuming everything else along the line is correct, yes.
