Hi,

I have a customer that has issues deploying an app via GPO. They state that sometimes the app does not deploy everytime or will not complete.
Currently they are adding machines to the GPO, about 200 now. Is there a limit to the amount of machines that can be added to the GPO?
My feeling is that the GPO should be applied to the OU, not individual machines added to the GPO.

Any ideas?
Thanks

IMO - the GPO should be applied to the out, if they're adding machines to it that could be a nightmare, are they at least doing this through a group?

Have you (or them) checked gpresult on the client machines to see what policies are being applied?

Does the installer being run generate any logs you can go look at to find why stuff is failign?

If you are making changes to the GPO during the deployment it could cause some computer to get the updates while other don't. I beleive that Windows 2000/XP update their GP between 30-90 minutes.

Also make sure that you have the computer that need the apps with the proper permission on the UNC that you are attempting to install from.
