Hi
I know nothing about PB. We have a PB POS App installed on Win98 desktop operated as cash register and also as server for network to a laptop with WinXPpro as client for reports and ocasional sales. Laptop HDisk is failing and was replaced and new Xp installed. Bad disk still holding out in external enclosure so all its files are still available for copying via USB connection. We can access the desktop files from the "new" laptop ok.
Problem: When laptop tries to start or access App in desktop, we now get a "cannot find pbvm80.dll" error and a sugestion to re-install App to solve problem. We copied a pbvm80.dll file into several files of the laptop and changed Path to include \\thedesktopPC\"C:\Deploy" folders (we found two) each with a pbvm80.dll in it. No results. There are no instalation disks, App was custom job instaled directly on our PCs by individual programer, years ago, and no longer arround.
Which files or directories or settings should we look for in the old laptop disk to copy into the new one? A friend says the problem could be with the "ODBC?". We really need help.
