We have a customer which is using workforce roi's Advanced PO - we need to migrate the data to GP POP, but the migration tool for this process fails - I was thinking of opening the code from the migration tool but it is a chunk file and I am having trouble. Any suggestions for moving this data?

Thank you

as with intelisol's apop, the data is just too foreign and the best approach that I used was to cube the data for the customer to view historically and start from scratch with only Open PO's.

How did you move the open PO's or are you saying to close everything out and go from there

it really depends on the number of open transactions you have. I had access to integration manager so it was fairly simple re-importing everything plus I know the table structure pretty well.

Alternatively, you could get the users to re-enter the open PO's as "practise"

Things you have to worry about is invoice matching. Getting the accounting department on board with the complexity of having to do a purchase order/receipt and then back the inventory and GL entries out just to allow an invoice match will be quite an undertaking. What I'd suggest in this issue is to have them do the transactions to see how much work is involved.

Great Plains does allow invoicing with matching so they may just say forget it.

Migration is never easy on non core products (and sometimes even with core products) so the less conversion the easier the transition will be.
