So I got a new video card thinking i'm all slick...
(currently have an ATI radeon "joke" 7200.

This new card wont run at all, constantly locking up in a "hardware infinite loop". So I had to revert back to my other nightmare card.

Does anyone know if it's my motherboard? I have an Iwill KK266 mb, which I can't figure out if it has AGP 2.0. I do know it's AGP 4X and this card should be backwards compatible, and just not give me what it really has to offer...

I was wondering if it's IMPORTANT to uninstall the Ati card drivers first, because I simply plugged in the 5200 and installed it's new drivers from the site...

help??

Thanks a lot!

Justin

I noticed when I installed my G-Force card, the instruction said something about setting the AGP size to 1/4 of the board memory available. Read your manual, (I can't find mine right now). The funny thing is that after about a month, I set it back to 64k (default) and saw no difference.

You might need a new MB the 5200 which I have needs AGP 8x - and can have plently of problems on motherboards that don't have AGP 8x

I'm pretty sure when I say that the aging Via KT133a chipset on this motherboard, has compatibility issues with the much newer Nvidia FX5200 GPU
I would recommend swopping the FX card for an older
GF3 Ti500 or similar, "more powerful" and compatible with your motherboard.
I've seen used examples going on ebay for £30 ($50)
