What OS are you downloading Apache for? Do you want the source file or RPM? You should download from the site.

That depends on whether you want to install Apache 1.x or 2.x, and the OS you'll be installing it on, and whether you want to compile it from source or have it precompiled for you.
has Unix sources and precompiled Windows binaries for both 1.x and 2.x.
