I'm a little confused, as I swear I ran this same setup at home just a few weeks ago.

But I just installed RedHat 8.0 at work, and now I want to start apache.

I included apache as part of the install, and I can run the apacheconf from the panel->server settings->http settings... but when I go to services I don't see any place to start apache.

Odd I figure, so I go to the terminal and run apacheconf and I get all sorts of GNOME errors... of this sort...

GNOME critical: line 738 assertion Program != NULL failed.

Am I looking in the wrong place (Services)? Should I just download and install Apache overtop? Should I re-install my setup before I do too much?

Thanks,

Rob

assuming rpm -qa | grep apache was supposed to return anything other than nothing, no.

Grrr... guess I best get those eh?

If you're running the Gnome GUI, go to Services and start httpd. Newposter

Darn someone got here first. :p
Well, since we're on the subject.... Let's talk mail. I have the whole kitten cabootal (installed all the packages) and so I want to run a mail server. I have a DNS address, what ports need I open and what services need I run... I have all the pops running, but I cant seem to find STMP listed under services.... so what is the out-going service called?

Sendmail is turned on, but it all ends up being sent to the root's mailbox with errors attached.
