I installed Apcahe Tomcat on Win 95. I also got the JDK 1.3.
Installation went fine. I changed the port to 80 in the server.xml file. I set the JAVA_HOME. When I startup the server I get 4 messages:

Starting service Tomcat-Standalone
Apache Tomcat/4.0.4
Starting service Tomcat-Apache
Apache Tomcat/4.0.4

And the Dos window stays there. Is there another message saying it has started or is this enough.
btw, the shutdown script works fine.

After this I try to test it using

but I get page not found. I tried to change the port back to 8080 and use

But same problem.

IS this problem because of Win 95 and I should change to Nt or something else or is there some mistake I am making.

Thanks for your help.

in the startup dos box thats all tomcat tells you unless there is an error.
