apache start error

I am an apache newbie. Server setup and admin has been recently dumped on me ( I am a developer ). I cannot get apache to start, it generates the following error:

Failed to start apache :
Starting httpd: [ OK ]

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this?
All help will be greatly appreciated.

You need to take a look at your error logfile to see why the start is failing.

Take a look at the file /var/log/httpd/error_log to see what Apache has to say.

Thanks for the help. I actually ended up copying conf file from another server I have. All is fine now.
