Hi.

I have just installed RH8 running Apache 2.0.40-11
and I am trying to set up some virtual hosts.

I am copying my RH72 setup og virtual hosts into this apache, but I cannot seem to make it work.

Config check of the httpd.conf file returns "OK".

After restart the server runs for 2-5 secs. After that a service httpd status produces:
"httpd dead but pid file exists"

In error_log it says:
"[crit] (17) File exists: unable to create scoreboard (name-based shared memory failure)"

Anybody got some clue to what is wrong?

Hi,

Can you check if you have 2 entry for ScoreBoard File in your httpd.conf? If you do, please delete it. ONLY use one entry. That cause the problem.

Secondly, have you reboot your machine yet?

regards,
feroz

And if you don't use the scoreboard file, you could just comment it out. //Daniel
