Apache on WinXP

Hi,

I'm running Apache/1.3.29 & PHP/4.2.3 on WinXP Pro SP1, it works fine but few times (mainly when I shutdown OS or when I close Explorer) XP crash with blue screen.
Event viewer show the following:

pid file c:/programmi/apache group/apache/logs/httpd.pid overwritten -- Unclean shutdown of previous Apache run?

Could someone help ?

Apche has many child processes running andif you are impatient when shutting down and the child processes are not terminated properly you will get this error. I cannot remember where to set it but you can set the default time to live on hung programs. Someone here may be able to help with that.

As for your problem just make sure to shutdown apache before you try to restart. MAy solve your problem.
