Hello, I have a computer with 2x 6gb disks in raid 1(different ide channels) and another 40 gb partitioned into a 10gb for winXP and 30gb for the rest of my stuff. My original plan was to install apache on my big drive, but I would use the raid disks for the server. Do i gain a lot by installing apache on the raid disks instead???

thx

Ben

I don't think you would lose or gain anything significant either way. However, if you were to get rid of XP and install linux on your server, then we can talk gains my brother. ;-)

You'd gain redundancy. There's no loss that I can think of for a web server on RAID since it's read-only. Logging might be slower.
