Apache JSP Help

whenever i try to access date.jsp, it gives me the 404 message, under my jserv logs i get Servlet error, ajp12: Servlet Error: NoClassDefFoundError: org.gjt.jsp.JspServlet

Any help would be appreciated because i am at a total loss, i have checked all over the web and have compared my paths to everyone else's paths and examples and still no luck.
