apache is not starting

hi
i am using solaris 8 on sparc platform.
i have download the apache2 & gunzip & tar the the downloaded file.
after that i goto the httpd-2.2.1 dir & run
./configure
make install
& apache is installed in
/usr/local/apache2
now when i start apache
/usr/local/apache2/bin/apachectl start
it does not give any error but it does not start also.
how can i solve the probem with any error message.
psl tell me the any possible error or solution.

You may try as follows:

grep -i httpd /etc/rc3.d

then see which file to start this server up. In my linux env, the startup server command is /usr/sbin/httpd.

Which ports are you using? Apache needs to be started as root for all web servers running using port numbers less than 1024.

Did you configure the httpd.conf file?

Check for httpd.conf file?
check ps-ef o/p may be it is like HTTP running but u r not able to c it... I mean
website name and the defualt port 1024
