I am running mrtg and apache on Redhat 7.3, things are working fine with that. I created a page using indexmaker and am trying to make that my homepage. I ran apacheconf and changed the site configuration page search list to use the new one from indexmaker but I keep getting the default index.html page when hitting the site. I tried an httpd restart but that didn't help. Any ideas?

Regards,

Bob

What is the name of the file that your program generates? Is it in the right directory? //Daniel

Indexmaker creates an html page (core1html.html). I put the file in the same directory as the working directory for mrtg, this is where the mrtg log files get dumped each time the process is run. I used apacheconf to point to that area /var/ and also changed the search list so my page is listed at the top. Hope this isn't to fuzzy.

I tried that daniel and it still pulls up the default page that comes with apache. I believe all is ok when I check apacheconf. The directory was changed to point to where the mrtg log files get dumped and there is an index.html file there that was created by indexmaker.

Bob

Try editing your httpd.conf file manually. That way you are sure that you get it right. I've personally never heard of this apacheconf you are talking about, so I am not sure it works. //Daniel

Edit httpd.conf with a text editor and change the path to the DocumentRoot. It is still set to the default. Once you do that, you will need to restart apache.

Thanks Daniel and Rhythm, editing the file manually and changing the DocumentRoot worked. I'm not sure why the apacheconf gui utility does not work. When I checked httpd.conf it had the original directory /var/ as root.

Thanks
