Apache crashed - possible hack

Can anyone please advise on the following?

Below is a piece of the apache error log, whatever this client did it resulted in the stopping of the Apache server and crashing of the actual server.

Are there any counter measures that can be undertaken if this is the case?

Do you mean have I extended Apache in some way? No modules are currently installed but it is being used in conjunction with Xinet WebNative (see

http://www.xinet.com).
