I'm new to Apache and am running it off of a Mac G5. I'm trying to change the configuration so that I do not need to end every URL with a '/'. I've looked up some info about this online but can't get it to work. Is there something I have to do differently because Mac has added a GUI for some of Apache's configuration?

Along those lines...
What happens when i try going to instead of is that it brings me to apache.org. Is there any way to change where this would redirect me to?

Apache provides a module to do this for you. Are you loading it? The modules is called mod_dir and it exists to redirect to a trailing slash reference if it is missing.

Check your LoadModule section to see if it is installed and loaded.

Also make sure you do not use a trailing slash in the path of your directory container. For example, do not do this:

<Directory "/path/to/dir/">
