The following will not display the link text "Promotions Link"

<a href="./promotions/">Promotions Link</a>

Note: promotions directory exists & index.html inside. Also had no luck with absolute URL.

When viewing the "Index of /" the parent directory, the promotions directory has icon & Last Modified but the name is blank.

This also occurs with directory named "promos".

Tested on Apache 2.0.55 (Windows) & 2.0.40 (Redhat)

Anyone know whats going on?

Hi

Just what I heard in other forums : some firewalls and browser extensions are checking for some words like "advertisement", "promo" and others, the tries to filter out the ads. In some cases such trys can mess up abit the HTML document.

So disable the firewall if you have one, and use another browser if you have.

Feherke.

Thanks Feherke,

I disabled Norton and it worked. Never would have thought of that!

I guess I wont be using such directory names on my site.

I found the list of blocked html strings in Nortons settings. I'll have to be careful since other firewall packages will have different lists.
