Does anyone have experience from using Apache on Solaris as a frontend webserver to Weblogic v4.5 or v6? We are currently using Weblogics own webserver, but need more detailed statistics from our visitors - something which Weblogics Webserver logfiles have no ability to provide.

Apache seems to be a good alternative, but I'd be interested in hearing from anyone with 'In Real Life Experience'.

Rgds.

We use IPlanet as our front-end and it works very well. This was the perferred method before WebLogic 6 was released. Now with WebLogic 6, BEA has actually gotten its act together and increased the performance of WebLogic's HTTP server. Personnally I will stick with using IPlanet as the front-end anyways. I would assume Apache would work just as well. For details on setting up a proxy between WebLogic 6 and Apache check this link:
Hope this helps. Wushutwist
