I just upgraded to redhat 8.0. I have finally decided to take the plunge to apache 2. I was trying to compiule Apache 2.0.43 and php 4.2.3.

Apache compilied fine. When i went to load the compiled php moduile i got errors like:
Syntax error on line 234 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/modules/libphp4.so into server:
/usr/local/apache/modules/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: core_globals_id

any ideas?

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php
--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql

i beilve it was ./configure --enable-module=so or something like that, i dont exactly rememeber what ones i used for apache. How should i go about compiling apache?
